About the work

Coaching

Coaching begins with a specific situation: a decision, a recurring pattern, a difficult relationship, a change in role or a transition that affects several parts of life at once.

I listen for the details, assumptions and reactions shaping the situation. Together we develop a clearer account of what is happening and decide what to examine or do between conversations.

When this is useful

Situations I can help with

01

A leadership role is changing

New responsibility, expectations or relationships are affecting the person and the work.

02

A recurring pattern is becoming expensive

The pattern can be seen in decisions, relationships, energy or the way important situations are handled.

03

Career and life questions are interacting

Ambition, identity, family, time and responsibility need to be considered together.

Working process

How an engagement works

01

The current situation

We begin with the events, people, choices and consequences that are present now.

02

The pattern and its function

We examine language, assumptions, reactions and the way the pattern has been useful.

03

A decision or experiment

We choose a practical action that can produce new information before the next conversation.

04

Review and adjustment

We use the result to improve the understanding and determine the next piece of work.

Typical material

What the work can produce

A more precise account

Clearer language for the situation and the forces shaping it.

A decision

A choice connected to the person’s priorities, relationships and actual circumstances.

A practical experiment

An action designed to test an assumption or change a recurring interaction.

A useful cadence

A rhythm of conversation, action and review when the work continues over time.

Formats

Ways to structure the work

Single conversation

One focused session around a defined situation or decision.

Short series

A sequence of conversations with action and observation between sessions.

Ongoing leadership coaching

Regular one-to-one work across the person, the role, key relationships and the organisation.

Relevant experience

Background brought into the engagement

I draw on years of leading, advising, hiring, selling, building companies and navigating significant transitions, combined with a disciplined coaching practice.

Practical details

Common questions

Which subjects can enter the conversation?

Leadership, career, identity, relationships, energy, family and daily life can enter the work when they are relevant to the situation.

Can we begin with one session?
